OK, so this blog is supposed to be about books, but I just saw "the force awakens" and have to vent about it... there were of course a few elements of the movie that I liked, but it's basically a morally worthless war movie. The "good" stormtrooper gets an attack of conscience that is not explored at all, and spends a great deal of the rest of the movie killing people. Not very different from any number of vintage movies that serve to glorify war (of COURSE our side can kill! of COURSE the other side commits atrocities but we don't! of COURSE God, uh, the light side of the Force, is on our side.)
To hell with this.
