For some reason, I have started reading the Ghormenghast trilogy, very slowly this time so that I can enjoy the language. Is this healthy reading?

I'm still part way through "about a boy". I've also started "Plain Song" and found my misplaced copy of "Gilead". So, that's it for literary fiction for the moment.

I picked up a copy of "The complete idiot's guide to English Literature", at a bargain store. Very fast history of lit crit and highlights from English literature.

A book on Jain meditation is surprisingly interesting. I don't yet if it will discuss Jain pacifism, which I would like to know more about. Someone recommended a book on Gandhi's philosophy by Bandour (spelling?) to me.

I am having trouble finding some books I thought I had, like Franklin's autobiography. It must be in the attic somewhere.

Reading "About a boy", "Gilead", and just finished the space opera "City of Ruins". Nonfiction wise, still reading "The happiness project" and "failing at sainthood". Also a book on Jain meditation, and the travels of William Bartram.
