What books am I reading now?

Well, I am in the middle of several books, as usual. But I also just finished "The New Space Opera" ed. by Gardner Dozois. My impression is that the singularity, genetic modifications, faster than light travel, etc. have become such cliches that they aren't interesting any more. I wonder whether this genre will ever find new ideas.
